Singapore, the “Lion City,” has a rich history as an international trade city. Major exhibitions have been held in Singapore for many years for all industries including medical, telecommunications, and aerospace trade shows. The International Congress and Convention Association, ICCA, has recognized Singapore as Asia’s Top Convention City for the 12th consecutive year for hosting global exhibits and events. International trade show managers find Singapore a great city with plenty of venues, accommodations, and easy access from around the world.

The exhibition industry around the world is becoming as green as the loveable frog singing about being green. Overseas exhibit builders have been in the forefront of re-purposing trade show displays for many years. One reason is out of necessity because of high cost for warehousing.

All around the world, so many eyes are on the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Whether viewing on televisions, computers, or mobile devices, the world is watching athletes who have dedicated themselves to pursuit of athletic excellence. How many of those millions of viewers consider the parallel to exhibitions? There are so many ways large international trade shows are similar to the Olympic Games.

“Size matters” is no joke when it applies to the height of your exhibit. Safety first is important to every exhibiting company and convention facilities. Trade show managements, professional/industry associations as well as venues across Europe are changing height restrictions, sometimes after the exhibitor service kit has been published. Exhibit managers and  builders may not be advised of the change until they have submitted the exhibit designs for approval. In some cases the association is not aware of a venue height rule change when the exhibitor manual is published.
